When you take the Yosemite shuttle bus to stop number six, you will reach the Yosemite Lodge. This Yosemite accommodation features comfortable and clean motel-type rooms. Because of its location, the Yosemite Lodge is quite popular. If you are lucky, your room will have a wonderful view of the beautiful Yosemite Falls. All of the rooms at this affordable Yosemite accommodation has two double beds, or one double bed with two twin beds. Most of the rooms have their own private patios or balconies. Don’t be surprised if you see the graceful deer and other forms of wildlife dancing past your door. On spring mornings, a chorus of songbirds will wake you up to encourage you to watch the exquisite sunrise.

Although economical, the Yosemite Lodge features a food court, lounge; ice cream stand; large outdoor pool; bicycle rentals; children's programs; tour desk; babysitting and general store. However, if you are looking for a rustic form of Yosemite lodging, consider a Yosemite camping trip. There are a number of Yosemite camping sites within the park, as well as in the surrounding areas. If you choose to take this route, be sure to read up on the important safety rules of Yosemite camping. Bear proof canisters are required for all kinds of food storage. Unless you want to be visited by black bears, it behooves you to follow that rule. The Yosemite camping bulletin board will list any other safety instructions.

Since over 800 Yosemite camping sites were lost in a flood in 1997, campsite reservations are highly advisable. Reservations are accepted beginning on the 15th of each month. They can be made up to 5 months in advance. However, make sure that you make your Yosemite camping reservations as early as possible, especially if you want to stay in the park itself. Also, since the busiest campsites are in Yosemite Valley, if you plan to stay there, be sure to plan well in advance. Be advised that wilderness permits are required for any overnight backpacking trip in Yosemite National Park. While many of the Yosemite camping sites have access to flush toilets and showers, some do not. If this is important to you, ask prior to making reservations.
