Denver Golf Tee Times

Denver golf tee times can be a little tricky to arrange sometimes, though any extra effort that might apply is likely to be well worth it. Denver is an excellent golfing destination, and this has a lot to do with the fact that the city has some fantastic public courses. As for the total number of Denver golf courses, there are at least 50 in the general area, with the Denver proper boasting excellent municipal courses such as the Willis Case Golf Course. As for the difficulty that might arise when making tee times, many of the best area courses are private and only open to members and their guests. Also worth noting is the fact that non-Denver residents who want to schedule Denver golf tee times at some of the city courses will have to purchase a special card first.
The public golf courses in Denver that require non-residents to purchase a special card before they can make tee times include the Willis Case Golf Course, the City Park Golf Course, and the Wellshire Golf Course. The former is just a few miles from the heart of town, and it is noted for the excellent Rocky Mountain views that it provides. In addition to an attractive, 18-hole course that measures out to around 6,300 yards, the well-priced Willis Case Golf Course features a pro shop and a restaurant that golfers can take advantage of.
As is true of most Denver golf courses, the Willis Case Golf Course is open throughout the year. That's because Denver gets a lot of sun on average, and while it snows in the city during the winter months, the snow usually melts relatively quickly. The bulk of the Colorado snow falls in the mountains, where some of the world's best ski resorts can be found. Coincidentally, many of the top ski resorts turn into world-class golfing destinations once the snow melts.
For those who are looking for good public golf courses in Denver, the Willis Case Golf Course isn't the only one worth considering. When it comes down to it, the Wellshire Golf Course might be the best of the municipal Denver golf courses. Designed in 1926, this city course at 3333 S. Colorado Boulevard has a lot of character, and its winding layout is complemented by mature landscaping. When golfers aren't making their way around the tight course, they can hit the driving range or visit one of the two restaurants. Ample amenities can also be found at the City Park Golf Course, and for those who are staying at one of the Downtown Denver hotels, this municipal course is closer to the heart of town than the Wellshire.
In addition to these top three public golf courses in Denver, visitors who want to tee it up while in town can also keep the other municipal courses in mind. Some of the municipal courses are 9-hole, par-3 courses that can be better when a quick round is the aim. One such course is the Harvard Gulch Golf Course. Other Denver golf courses that visitors can think of playing include non-municipal courses such as the Green Valley Ranch Golf Club and the Park Hill Golf Course. The former is less than twenty miles from the heart of the city. As for the Park Hill Golf Course, it is closer to Downtown Denver. While not quite as beautiful as the course at Green Valley Ranch, the Park Hill Golf Course is more than attractive enough for most, especially when you consider the friendly rates.
When it comes to Denver golf, golfing enthusiasts shouldn't limit themselves to the courses that are found within the city limits. Nearby Aurora also has some excellent courses, for example, and a side trip to Golden is something that any and all golfers should add to their Denver vacation itinerary. Golden is home to the amazing and immaculate Fossil Trace Golf Club, which has been named the best golf course in Colorado on many an occasion.
