Invesco Field EXTRA

Invesco Field opened in 2001, replacing Denver's longstanding Mile High Stadium, and it was part of a project that also saw the building of the Pepsi Center and Coors Field. Home of the Denver Broncos of the National Football League, this awesome stadium is also where the city's professional lacrosse team plays. From time to time, Invesco Field hosts other events, some sports related, others of a different variety. The stadium was built right next to the now nonexistent Mile High Stadium. Due east is Downtown Denver, and since the stadium is right off Interstate 25, access is relatively easy. It's worth noting that there are plenty of good hotels near Invesco Field, so it shouldn't be hard to find a place to stay close by.

Denver is a big sports town, and locals love their Denver Broncos. This professional football team boasts a fine history, having won the Super Bowl on back-to-back occasions behind Hall of Fame quarterback, John Elway. For those who want to see a Denver Broncos game, getting tickets can be difficult, as the 76,125 seats tend to sell out well in advance. 8,800 of the seats at Invesco Field are found in luxury suites, of which there are 132, and all of the seats at this modern stadium offer good views of the all-grass field. Three state-of-the-art video boards are in place to add to the viewing experience. For those who want to impress their friends with an interesting fact while watching a Broncos game, the suites on Level 4 are exactly one mile above sea level.

Football fans who are planning a Colorado vacation are encouraged to keep the Denver Broncos schedule when planning their trip. The NFL season begins in September and culminates with the Super Bowl in February, and there are eight Broncos home games to choose from. If getting tickets to an NFL game proves impossible, a tour of the stadium can be rewarding, and there are other events to choose from.

Invesco Field hosts some 300 events every year, and when football games at the NFL, college, and state level aren't being played, it sometimes serves as a big ticket concert venue. In fact, the first event to ever be held there was an Eagles concert. Tours of this impressive venue are also available; Invesco Field tours generally last around 75 minutes and include a visit to an onsite Colorado sports museum.

Sports fans who are planning a fall or winter visit to Denver will be happy to know that there are a bunch of good hotels near Invesco Field. These hotels include the downtown hotels and the Lodo hotels, many of which are relatively chic and luxurious. The hotels on the Lakewood side of things are more affordable on the whole, with the suburb's motels being especially budget friendly.
