Cheap Vail Hotels

Cheap Vail hotels are sometimes hard to come by. This is largely due to Vail's role as an upscale ski resort. That being said, visitors can find at least a few good hotels in and around the village that provide relatively low rates. They can also consider staying outside of the immediate Vail area, as this opens up a good list budget-friendly accommodation options.
If you don't mind staying across the street from Vail Village, then the Roost Lodge is well worth adding to your list of cheap area hotels. Situated on the other side of Interstate 70 at 1783 North Frontage Road, this wonderful hotel offers single, double, and triple rooms, as well as a few larger suites. TVs are lacking in the rooms and suites, which helps to keep the rates down, and this isn't a big deal. After all, Vail vacations don't usually involve a lot of time indoors. Each room and suite at the Roost Lodge is clean and has a private bathroom, and there are units that offer microwaves and refrigerators as extras. Free Wi-Fi helps to accentuate the overall deal, and you won't have to pay extra for the continental breakfasts.
For those who wish to save on rates while actually staying in Vail Village, the Evergreen Lodge can be a good lodging fit. Situated on the border of the Vail Village core and the revamped Lionshead-Vail Square area, this high-value hotel offers a fine location. Guests can also enjoy a complete array of facilities, the likes of which include a heated outdoor pool and a sports bar. Both hotel rooms and condo units are available at the Evergreen Lodge, and they feature plenty of amenities for guests to take advantage of. Among these amenities are cable TV, a coffee maker, individual heat control, and free high-speed Internet access. The Evergreen Lodge hails itself as "Vail's best value full service hotel," and it's hard to argue that claim when you consider just how much bang you get for your buck.
Found in the heart of Lionshead and just steps from everything that Vail Square has to offer, the Lionshead Inn (pictured) boasts a divine location in the heart of it all. This isn't the only reason why it can make for a great Colorado Rockies travel base, however. All of the 85 rooms at this value-oriented hotel offer cozy robes, coffee makers, and balconies, and you can pay extra for a guest unit with a wet bar if you so desire. A moderately priced breakfast buffet provides a budget option for morning meals, and after a day of world-class Vail skiing, a soak in the outdoor hot tub is likely to prove tempting. Both winter and summer activities can be arranged with ease at the Lionshead Inn, and this only accentuates its overall appeal.
For those who are interested in Vail condos, there are some condo hotels in the village that are more affordable than others. Among the most budget friendly of these lodging establishments is the Lionshead Arcade. In addition to a convenient location that has guests close to everything, the Lionshead Arcade offers two-bedroom, two-bath condos that are more cozy and stylish than you might expect for the price. In each and every unit, a TV and a VCR or DVD player come standard, as does a stereo system. Also, you can save on dining costs by preparing your own meals and snacks in the fully equipped kitchen.
Back on the other side of Interstate 70, another affordable hotel that might pique your interest is the Holiday Inn Apex Vail, and if you don't mind staying a short drive away from Vail Resort, there are even more cheap hotels to consider in the town of Eagle. Found about 30 miles west of Vail and just under 20 miles from the sister resort of Beaver Creek, this village offers a small collection of hotels that can be great alternatives to the more expensive accommodations in Vail proper.
Vail hotels deals are easiest to come by outside of the peak winter season. Even the summer rates are lower on average, and as such, you can expect to save considerably on lodging rates during most of the year. Another good way to get Vail hotel deals is to book your accommodations as part of a vacation package. Discounts are common when it comes to vacation packages in general, and there are certainly plenty of Vail ones out there for those who wish to take advantage.
