Ski Sundown is an exciting option on the Connecticut skiing scene, which typically goes from Thanksgiving to Saint Patrick's Day, depending on conditions. The resort boasts a vertical drop of 625 feet and 65 acres of skiable terrain, along with a seasonal average of 45 inches of snow. The Ski Sundown resort was one of the first places in the state to add a terrain park for snowboarding. If you've never been snowboarding before and want to learn how, you could sign up for one of the first timer's packages. For one low price, the package includes a 90-minute group lesson as well as a lift ticket. Newbie skiing packages are available too at the Sundown ski area, as are lessons for more those who want to sharpen their skills.

No matter your skiing experience, you'll need to purchase a lift ticket and bring equipment with you, or rent it when you arrive. You could purchase a eight-hour or four-hour package that can begin at any time you're ready to start enjoying Ski Sundown CT. Night ski packages are a great bargain, offering full access from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at a great price. Discounts for daytime and night packages are available for members of the military and junior skiers between the ages of 7 and 14. If you're looking for a chance to relax, you can make your way to the lodge at Ski Sundown CT. Along with views of the base, you'll find plenty of places to sit and watch the scenery. The lodge also has a welcome center and places to store your stuff. If you want to stay connected, you'll appreciate the free WiFi Internet access that's available throughout the lodge and the sports showing on the big-screen TVs in the lounge. You also can grab some food while enjoying the views. The main restaurant opens even before the lifts get going, serving warm breakfasts and hot coffee. At lunchtime, you'll have the chance to sample the famous Ski Sundown french fries, as well as soups and kid-friendly fare. In the afternoon, another restaurant opens, specializing in fresh-baked treats, sandwiches, and gourmet soups. On weekends and holidays when the weather allows, the restaurant on the Mountain View Deck opens up to serve up tasty barbecue and warm drinks.
