If you were to make a list of the best golf courses in Delaware, you'd find few who would argue that the course at the Bayside Resort Golf Club deserves special attention. The course here is the first one that Jack Nicklaus designed in Delaware, and it is truly a magnificent stretch of holes. Bayside Resort is a mixed-use property, serving both as a golf resort and as a conservation establishment. It's found near the Delaware beach resort town of Fenwick Island. Some 285 acres here have been left untouched by the resort, offering nature lovers the chance to observe the native flora and fauna. Depending on which tees you pick at the golf course here, it can be as long as 7,545 yards, or as short as 5,168 yards. Golfers of all ability levels can enjoy the Bayside Resort golf course, but do expect a challenge, regardless of your skills. The course is open for play throughout the year, much like the Bear Trap Dunes Golf Club courses are. There are three nice, 9-hole Delaware golf courses found at Bear Trap Dunes, so that totals 27-holes of golfing pleasure. Because of the number of holes found here, you'll rarely find yourself waiting around before shots, which is a huge advantage. The course(s) here were designed by a past associate of Jack Nicklaus, Rick Jacobson. Locals love to play here, and you probably will too.
If you want to work on your game while having a good time, the short Marsh Island Golf Club course is worth a visit when enjoying a vacation in Delaware's beachtown of Lewes. You will definitely be using your irons a lot, and though the course is short, it is pretty darn challenging, making it fun to play for all skill levels.
