If tax-free shopping is not enough to get you excited about Delaware shopping, then nothing will. If you need something and see one of the Delaware malls or shops in the near distance, you can head over to peruse the goods. Buy a pair of shoes here, and you won't have to pay the tax that you would back home.
The Riverfront Wilmington is not only a neat cultural attraction, it's also a great place to enjoy some Delaware shopping. There are an array of interesting shops found here, as well as restaurants and museums. You can even take water taxi tours of the Christina River. The Shipyard Shops is definitely one of the Delaware shopping centers that should make your list. This destination plays the role of one of the Delaware outlets, offering brand name stores like L.L. Bean and Lillian Vernon. You will definitely find gobs of great savings here. When you are hanging out in the state capital and get the shopping bug, you can always head over to the Dover Mall. The Delaware malls have tax-free shopping as well, and here, you will more than 100 stores. Of all the Delaware outlets, the most renowned would have to be the Tanger Outlet Center, which is found on Route 1 at Rehoboth Beach. Shopping can be a serious business for sure, and you're probably going to want to spend a whole lotta time at the more than 130 outlet stores found in Rehoboth Beach. Brand name stores here include Polo, J. Crew, Nine West and more! Since you are buying direct from none other than the manufacturer, you are bound to stumble upon a series of tantalizing deals. Head up the Delaware Atlantic Coast shoreline to Lewes if you want to enjoy one of the best places to shop in Delaware for antiques and crafts.
In Lewes, you might try shopping for something you probably originally didn't think about. It is here that you will find the Nassau Valley Vineyards, where you can enjoy a self-guided tour. On your way out, you might as well pick up a bottle or two to see what caliber of grapes this place is working with. You can also do some Delaware shopping at one of the museums. Museum shops are almost always interesting. North of Wilmington, just across the Pennsylvania border, you can peruse the goods at the Brandywine River Museum shop. You can reproductions of Wyeth family artwork, and the Wyeths used to actually live here. The Delaware malls and Delaware outlets aren't the only places to get amazing deals here. Annual Delaware shopping events, such as the Wilmington Aldersgate's Spring Rummage Sale, are a joy to experience for those who like to shop "til they drop". Sure, the rich history of Delaware and the Delaware beaches are largely responsible for bringing visitors in. But, the Delaware shopping is also responsible for drawing in scores of curious tourists. After all, tax-free shopping is almost too hard to believe.
