Chiefland Florida

Chiefland Florida hails itself as the “Gem of the Suwwanee Valley.” A fun place to visit, this city about an hour west of Gainesville has a proud rural heritage and offers pleasant landscapes and natural environments. Among the top area attractions that draws people to Chiefland is Manatee Springs State Park. Found only six miles west of the city, this popular park has a fitting name, as it is a great place to spot manatees. Fall and winter are when the most sightings can be expected. Activity choices at Manatee Springs State Park include kayaking, canoeing, snorkeling, scuba diving, hiking, and biking. Picnic pavilions are available, as are full camping facilities.

For recreation of a different kind during your Chiefland Florida escape, you can tee it up at the local Chiefland Golf and Country Club. Also worth considering when looking for things to do in the area is the Dakotah Winery and Vineyards. Wine samples are served daily in the wine-tasting room.
