Cocoa Florida

Cocoa is a great place to base yourself on Florida vacations. From the city’s hotels, which include familiar brands such as Best Western and Holiday Inn Express, guests enjoy easy access to some of Florida’s best attractions. Just across the Indian River, for example, the barrier islands are home to such points of interest as the Kennedy Space Center and Cocoa Beach. Just up the coast from Cocoa Florida is Titusville, which is a gateway to the beautiful Canaveral National Seashore. It isn’t much further north to get to Daytona Beach. Only adding to the allure of Cocoa as a tourist base is the city’s proximity to Orlando, which is only about an hour’s drive inland.

Downtown Cocoa, or Historic Cocoa Village, is often busy with tourists, many of whom arrive from the nearby Port Canaveral Cruise Port. Among the things that visitors come to enjoy are the Cocoa Riverfront Park, the Brevard Museum of History and Natural Science and the Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse. Downtown Cocoa plays host to numerous special events throughout the year that can add delightful depth to Florida vacations, and there is no shortage of local restaurants and boutiques to take advantage of anytime you drop into town. Cocoa, it should be noted, is the headquarters of The Florida Historical Society, which significantly bolsters the city’s historic and cultural influence.
