East Palatka Florida
The Florida census-designated place of East Palatka calls Putnam County home. A portion of town borders the St. John’s River, which is popular to explore by way of boat tours. Several conservation areas serve to protect native plants and wildlife in the general region, and just across the river in Palatka is Ravine Gardens State Park. The park is named for its two ravines that are up to 120 feet deep. Other features of the park include formal gardens, picnic sites with tables and grills, a trail system, and a paved road that winds around the ravine and offers garden views for motorists and cyclists. Day trip ideas for visitors to East Palatka Florida include heading east to the coast for a day at the beach or seeing the sights in such area cities as St. Augustine and Jacksonville.
