Located near Sarasota, Florida, the scenic barrier island of Siesta Key located on an eight mile stretch of white sand beaches that are made of quartz. Siesta Key hotels often get crowded in May, when sand sculpture artists participate in the Siesta Key Sand Sculpture Contest. If you’re in the area, be sure to watch the sculptors work their magic in the sand. Siesta Key beachfront hotels are located just an hour from Tampa and St. Petersburg and two hours from the attractions of Orlando.
