Florida Keys Flights

Florida Keys flights are available from a variety of airports in Florida and other cities in the southeast US, including Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Tampa, Orlando, Charlotte, and Atlanta. The majority of the flights make a stop at Miami, but because it’s only 180 miles from the mainland to Key West, the flights from Miami are short and easy. From time to time, Florida Keys flights also originate in the Bahamas.

Many of the familiar names bring jets and propeller-powered planes into the Key West International Airport, and some smaller companies offer chartered Key West flights on demand for passengers in large and small groups. After passengers have stepped off their Key West flights, they will find a well-equipped airport, complete with a restaurant and places to arrange for car rentals.

When looking for cheap flights to Key West, travelers have several options to consider. They can fly in the off-season, which usually means the summer in this region. Or they can schedule a flight during the week, as it’s often cheaper to arrive on a Tuesday or Wednesday than on the weekend. Many web sites offer excellent deals on fares, so it pays to spend some time doing some research on Key West flights.

In addition to arriving in Key West, passengers can fly into Marathon Key. Conveniently located in the center of the chain of islands, the airport is served daily by a major carrier. Along with passenger service, the airport also serves corporate jets, air taxis, and private charters. Passengers on these Florida Keys flights arrive in a terminal well-equipped for comfort, complete with access to car rental counters and shuttles.

When looking for Key Largo flights, passengers will need to consider nearby airports. They can hop a flight to Key West or pick an airport on the mainland. There are several ways to get from the airport to the northernmost island of the keys, including car rentals, shuttles, and ferries, which add to a bit to the cost of Key Largo airfare. The Marathon airport is also an easy drive away from beaches, hotels, and attractions in Key Largo.

One option for Key Largo Flights—or for travelers going anywhere in the Keys—is flying into Miami and then heading south instead of taking direct Florida Keys flights. Many discount carriers fly into the major airport, so it can be easy to find great deals. Vacationers can rent a car or take a shuttle bus on one of the most scenic drives in America. Key Largo, the first major city in the keys, is about an hour from Miami. Big Pine Key is about 130 miles away, and there are 160 miles between the airport and Key West, while traveling along the Overseas Highway.

The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International airport is also close, about an hour away from Key Largo. Also, high-speed ferries make the trip between Fort Myers Beach or Marco Island and Old Town Key West. The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is a viable alternative to Key Largo flights; arriving here will add only about an hour of time on the road.
