Florida Keys Vacation Rentals

Florida Keys vacation rentals are very popular, as they are in resorts all over the islands. They provide privacy, freedom, and the autonomy to do much as you please during your travels. They can also help you save money. Almost all have fully equipped kitchens, and dining out for three meals a day can be quite pricey in resort areas. Small groups can take over an entire property and still save money. For instance, while the total cost of Key West villas may be high, if divided among all the people in a group it can be substantially lower than reserving a sufficient number of rooms at Key West luxury hotels.

One of the first places you might want to look for one of these properties is with real estate agents who specialize in listing local homes. Residents throughout the islands are keenly aware of the value of their properties, and they do convert their homes into Florida Keys vacation rentals during high-occupancy periods and even during the time when they themselves may be on a vacation elsewhere. Thus you have a wide choice of types of properties to choose from wherever you are going, from Marathon Key to Big Pine Key. There are more Key West vacation rentals than anywhere else on the archipelago, as this is the most densely populated area in the Keys and the most visited by vacationers.

The Keys region is a popular retirement area, and there are numerous private, planned communities, condominium complexes, and time-share compounds. Some are quite extensive, boasting golf courses as well as marinas and docks suitable for fishing boats. You can find condos in Key West or in just about any of the other Keys that will give you access to all the exclusive private facilities enjoyed by residents. Some bungalows and cottages available as Florida Keys vacation rentals actually have private beaches, a huge selling point in an area that actually has few beaches.

Islamorada vacation rentals include the exclusive Keys Ocean Front Mansion, which also doubles as one of the bed and breakfast inns on the islands. It is a huge mansion, at more than 10,000 square feet, and can sleep more than twenty people. It has two state-of-the-art, almost professional-caliber kitchens and a deep water dockage that can accommodate yachts as long as 50 feet, making it excellent for deep sea fishing expeditions. This is not one of the cheap Islamorada hotels by any means, but it will be less expensive than a luxury hotel for larger crowds such as families and groups visiting for weddings.

Key Largo is the closest of the Keys to the Florida mainland, only about 50 miles from Miami. You will find numerous vacation rentals here, from small apartments to the luxurious villas and townhouses of the Mariners Resort, which is next to John Pennekamp Coral Reef Park, the premier snorkeling and scuba diving spot in the islands.

In addition, there are plenty of Key West vacation rentals and condos in Key West that are quite attractively priced. The entire island is only two miles by four miles in size, so essentially all the properties are within walking distance of the central attractions and things to do. Other Key West vacation rentals may actually be outside the city limits on a different island. Nearby Stock Island is one of these, but it is still only a few minutes away from the resort's vibrant nightlife and the Mallory Square area, and it is on the city bus line. You will find less pricey condos in Key West here, as well as a little further east on Big Coppitt Key.
