Hollywood Florida is a charming beachfront town located between Fort Lauderdale and Miami. It is characterized by its quaint atmosphere and stunning beach. Hollywood Beach is one of the biggest draws to Hollywood Florida. Stretching nearly six miles along the Atlantic Ocean, Hollywood Beach is characterized by white sands and turquoise waters. This family-friendly beach has been certified as a Blue Wave Clean Beach by the Clean Beaches Council for ten consecutive years.

The heart of the beach is the two-and-a-half mile long Hollywood Beach Broadwalk, a beachfront brick promenade originally built in 1925. Lined with hotels and cafes, this oceanfront pathway has been named one of America’s Best Beach Boardwalks by Travel + Leisure magazine. Visitors enjoy jogging, cycling, roller-blading, or simply strolling the historic walk along Hollywood Beach. There are two parks along the Broadwalk, including paddleball courts, ping-pong, and an interactive fountain for kids. Each weekend, the south end of the Broadwalk transforms into an organic farmer’s market that specializes in freshly made tropical smoothies. The Hollywood Beach Theatre also offers free outdoor concerts.

There are several unique ways to see the sites of Hollywood Florida. Bicycle tours take advantage of the town’s many bike paths, offering tours that range up to 30 miles. Private flight tours are available to groups of up to five, offering a bird’s-eye view of the city from a small plane. Guided Segway tours are available along the Broadwalk. Perhaps the most popular way to take in Hollywood, however, is the nostalgic Hollywood Trolley. The trolley offers three lines that transport riders all throughout downtown Hollywood and as far as nearby Fort Lauderdale.

Hollywood Florida Restaurants

Hollywood Florida offers a wide array of fine dining options. From seafood served alongside the Atlantic to international cuisine, Hollywood’s restaurant scene is a haven for food lovers. Some of the most popular restaurants in Hollywood serve French cuisine, including Bistro Bon Marche, Face, and Le Comptoir. Florida’s proximity to Central America is evident at Lauren’s Cuban and Orale Mexican restaurants. Rocco’s serves excellent pizza, while Hollywood Prime serves delicious steaks. La Vendetta and the Moonlight Diner offer their take on Americana, while A La Turca Turkish restaurant and Nakorn Thai transport taste buds overseas. Even the hoagies at the Mile High Sandwich Shop come highly recommended in Hollywood Florida.

The most common hotels in Hollywood Florida have long been smaller, historic beachfront hotels. Gems such as the Manta Ray Inn (pictured) and Angelfish Inn offer simple comfort right on the sandy shores of Hollywood. Guests can expect basic amenities and easy beach access. Over the past decade, however, larger luxury resorts have given travelers to Hollywood more lodging options. Situated along the beach, the larger hotels such as the Westin Diplomat, the Crowne Plaza, and the Marriott include large pool complexes, gourmet restaurants, and business centers. For travelers wishing for more privacy, there are vacation rentals available throughout the city, ranging from small houses near the beach to luxury high-rise condominiums.
