Parrot Key Resort

Parrot Key Resort enjoys a prime location in Key West, the southernmost point in the U.S. Even in Key West, the resort is well situated—just a short stroll away from Old Town and a quick trip from the Overseas Highway, officially known as U.S. Route 1. Nestled on five acres of gardens, the three-story beachfront resort may be close to everything, but it feels like a secluded hideaway. Parrot Key also offers a mix of boutique style with a long list of amenities, including four swimming pools. The resort is decorated in the signature Conch style that’s a little bit Caribbean, a touch New England, and all Florida Keys. The white gingerbread accents, shaded porches, and sculpture gardens add that special touch to Parrot Key Resort. The staff, too, works to add extra flourishes, ensuring that every guest is treated like Key West royalty.

The Key West style, and Wi-Fi access, extends to all of the 148 rooms and suites at the Parrot Key Resort. Of the total, half are traditional hotel rooms, at 375 square feet each. The remaining 74 accommodations are spread between one- and two-bedroom suites, ranging from 625 to 925 square feet—among the largest for Florida beach resorts. The guestrooms have a king bed or two queens, with beach or garden views, along with a terrace or private porch. Each one has a 27-inch flat screen TV for the rare times when you’re not enjoying views of the gardens or the Gulf of Mexico. With an upgrade to the suites, you have access to more space and expansive en-suite baths, as well as 42-inch flat screen TVs, and, of course, the amazing views. The two-bedroom suites, the largest at Parrot Key, have a bath in each bedroom, to go along with a separate seating area. From any of the rooms, it’s just minutes to the resort’s other amenities, including the pool complex, cafe, and beach.

Like Key West as a whole, Parrot Key is blessed with sunny days and warm weather throughout the year. It’s a good thing there are so many opportunities to get outside and enjoy the outdoors at Parrot Key. The pool complex, with its gardens and palm trees, is nestled in the middle of the resort complex, close to all of the rooms and suites. All four of the pools are heated and cured with saltwater, making it almost like swimming in the ocean, but much more comfortable. The poolside cafe is available for convenient food and drinks. The resort’s on-site outfitter can equip guests for adventures beyond Parrot Key. It’s only minutes to the ocean, where you could enjoy activities that perfectly suit your style. If you’re interested in relaxing, consider casting a line or a quiet kayaking excursion through the groves of mangrove trees. If that’s a little too quiet for your speed, there’s paddle boarding and jet ski tours all starting within an hour of the resort. With a snorkel, you could dip below the surface to see a world as colorful as the architecture of Key West.
