Sunny Isles Beach

Sunny Isles Beach is a place in Florida aptly named. This sunny city occupies a barrier island in Dade County and is easy to access from both Fort Lauderdale and Miami. If you’re flying into either airport, or arriving via Miami cruises, you’re only a half hour away from this island paradise. Every year, vacationers come to experience the city’s two-plus miles of beaches and all the fun that goes along with it, as well as great shopping and dining. With a fishing pier and the Samson Oceanfront Park, Sunny Isles has even more space set aside to enjoy the best of the Florida beaches.

Sunny Isles Beach Hotels

The city of Sunny Isles Beach is undergoing a renaissance as of late without turning into a tourist trap. Many of the outdated lodging properties are being replaced with chic places to stay. When it comes to luxury surroundings, it’s impossible not to mention Acqualina Sunny Isles. The five-star resort offers a wide range of accommodations from luxury hotel rooms overlooking Collins Avenue, the city’s main street, to three-bedroom suites overlooking the ocean. With kids’ activities, a full spa, and gourmet dining, the resort offers its guests everything they need to really relax. Like with the other hotels in Sunny Isles, Acqualina’s beach access is one of the perks of staying on the island.

In total, the hotels on the island suit both ends of the budget spectrum. Like the Acqualina, the Trump International Beach Resort and Sole International are some of the best luxury hotels in northern Dade County. Other hotels, including the Marco Polo Beach Resort—Ramada Plaza and Travelodge Monaco Beach Resort offer cozy accommodations that don’t break the bank within steps of the beach.

The development is continuing with new condos, although city planners are making sure that new condo communities aren’t crowding the views of the Sunny Isles beaches. A few of the condos are home to year-round residents, but most are vacation homes. And that means that many of the homeowners are more than willing to rent out their beachfront properties for a weekend, week, or month. Some of the condos in Sunny Isles Beach are located in sleek towers, while others are one-story affairs. With so many vacation rentals available, it’s easy to find a rental to suite your style and budget.

With the irresistible combination of warm weather and a long stretch of soft sand, the town of Sunny Isles Beach is a perfect place to soak in the sun. More than 20 access points, many with paved parking, make it easy to access the Sunny Isles beach. If you’d prefer to leave the car at the hotel, you could hop aboard the free shuttle to make it to your favorite beach. Several of the entry points are right along Collins Avenue. Lifeguards are on duty daily at Samson Oceanfront Park and several other points along the beach. And the lifeguards don’t take the winter off, since this is South Florida. The water stays warms enough to swim in all four seasons. Besides swimming. Sunny Isles Beach visitors can do so much more than tread water. The typical activities of beachcombing and suntanning are certainly enjoyed here, as are watersports, especially jet skis. There’s a long list of amenities along these beaches, too, including volleyball courts, picnic pavilions, and playgrounds. And don’t forget about the Newport Fishing Pier, long a gathering place in Sunny Isles Beach.
