Micanopy Florida

If you enjoy shopping for antiques, then chances are good that you’ll have a fine time in the Florida city of Micanopy. The self-proclaimed antique capital of the Sunshine State, Micanopy certainly has its fair share of antiques shops. Many are found along the city’s tree-lined main strip – Cholokka Boulevard. This street is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is the main destination for most Micanopy visitors. Other ideas for things to do in Micanopy Florida include seeing what the local restaurants have to offer, enjoying the annual Fall Harvest Festival and heading out to the nearby Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park to see the bison and wild horses. Also worth noting is the proximity of Micanopy to Gainesville, which is just a 15-minute drive to the north.
