The Panama City Beach hotels on Thomas Drive are not to be overlooked by PCB visitors who wish to stay on or near the sand. This avenue along the coast picks up where Front Beach Road leaves off, extending southeast into the Grand Lagoon Beach community. When compared to the hotels on Front Beach Road, those hotels along Thomas Drive tend to be on the quieter side, as the main bar and club scene is mostly contained to Panama City Beach proper.
Some of the lodging establishments that are found along Thomas Drive in Panama City Beach are condo complexes. An example of this is Regency Towers (pictured), which enjoys a beachfront location at 5801 Thomas Drive. In many ways, the condo complexes in the Panama City Beach area resemble hotels because of the fact that they tend to offer such amenities as swimming pools, picnic areas, shuffle board courts and tennis courts.
The majority of hotels along Thomas Drive are low-cost inns and motels. Examples in this department include the Sea Foam Motel, the Monterey Motel and the Spartan Inn. Lollye On the Beach Motel on Surf Drive isn’t technically found on Thomas Drive, though it too begs consideration, especially for the budget-minded traveler.
Some of the Panama City Beach hotels that are found near the water offer condos and/or rooms that are of the more standard hotel variety. One such example is the Boardwalk Beach Resort Hotel, which is situated at 9400 South Thomas Drive. Arguably one of the best beach hotels in Panama City Beach, the Boardwalk caters to a wide variety of people with its condo rentals and its hotel rooms. Its extensive facilities include the Gulf Coast’s largest convention center. Should staying at a more standard hotel on Thomas Drive be the aim, the Hampton Inn Panama City Beach can make for a good option. Its location at 2909 Thomas Drive doesn’t put it right on the sand, though it hardly takes long to get from the hotel to the beach.
