Quincy is the county seat of Florida’s Gadsen County and is just a 20-minute drive northwest of Tallahassee. A city with plenty of historic roots, it is known for its Old Florida feel, which is perhaps best exhibited by the Victorian homes and other nostalgic buildings found in the charming downtown district. On the newer side of things, Quincy Florida boasts the modern Gadsen Arts Center. This AAM accredited institution puts much of its focus on local artists and is a popular stop along the North Florida Arts Trail. Venturing outside of Quincy, there are recreational opportunities at Lake Seminole on the Florida-Georgia border to the northwest and south of town in the expansive Apalachicola National Forest.
