Safety Harbor Florida

Safety Harbor enjoys a pleasant location on the west shore of Tampa Bay and is just minutes from a number of top rated Florida beaches, including Clearwater Beach and the beaches on Caladesi Island. There is so much to do in this area that Safety Harbor visitors might not know where to start. Exploring downtown Tampa, taking boat tours on Tampa Bay and venturing over to Tarpon Springs for a look around are just some of the recommended activities.

In Safety Harbor proper, the small town atmosphere is quaint, which is a departure from the more heavily-urbanized parts of Pinellas County. Among the city’s most notable attractions are Philippe Park and the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa (pictured at top). Philippe Park boasts a Tocobaga Indian mound that is listed as a National Historic Landmark. The Safety Harbor Resort and Spa sprung up around the Espiritu Santo Springs (a natural mineral spring) and is both a National Historical Landmark and a Florida Heritage Landmark. The resort opened in 1925 and is still in operation today.
