Tallahassee is located in northern Florida at the point where the state’s panhandle begins. It is the state capital of Florida and home to several notable universities, including Florida State University and Florida A&M University. There are also several fine museums in the city, including the Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science, the Tallahassee Museum of History and Natural Science, and the Florida State University Museum of Fine Arts.

Shopping is another popular pastime in the city of Tallahassee Florida. There are two indoor malls, several notable markets, and a wide variety of independent boutiques and shops. Market Square (off of I-10), Florida’s Farmer’s Market on East Tennessee Street, and Capital Plaza are just a few of the enviable places in the city to find excellent opportunities for shopping. Places like the Apalachee Regional Park Trail and the Apalachicola National Forest afford visitors of Tallahassee the opportunity to not only take in the breathtaking beauty of this part of Florida, but also enjoy activities like hiking, mountain biking, and canoeing. Anglers of all stripes will also find plenty of chances to get out the rig and put it to good use. There are awesome places to fish, including Lake Ella, Lake Henrietta, Lake Jackson, and Lake Munson. There are also several options for beaches nearby Tallahassee. The Gulf Coast is just about 25 miles directly to the south, Panama City is an hour to the southwest, and Jacksonville is about two hours due east.

Tallahassee also plays host to a variety of annual events and festivities. The Tallahassee Wine and Food Festival is a popular event that takes place every November. The Downtown Getdown is an annual fall festival that takes place in the central business district and features a number of performers, games, exhibits, and other attractions. There are plenty of hotels and other guest accommodations in Tallahassee, from luxury hotels to budget motels and campsites.
