The Gulf Coast Hurricane lets visitors experience 74-mile-per-hour winds whipping around them at full force, and the MaxFlight Simulator virtual-reality fighter jet allows pilots to control their destiny while doing aerial combat. Tickets for the flight simulator ride are separate.
At the Saunders Planetarium in the museum of science in Tampa, the projection dome and the GOTO Space Simulator Chronos system let visitors see the night sky from past to present, from anywhere on earth along with scheduled video shows about planets, space travel, and space exploration.
The Tampa Museum of Science and Industry is a 75-acre complex featuring a gift shop, a replica of one of the largest dinosaurs that existed, and a full-service café featuring meals or light snacks for lunch.
