Theatre in the Square is the name of the professional group that stages a five-show season along with holiday and seasonal performances. There is also a weekly farmer’s market in Marietta Square where you can purchase all kinds of produce, flowers, handcrafted goods, and much more.
The Marietta Gone With the Wind Museum is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city. It is also located in the Marietta Square and features a vast collection of items from the movie and the book. Lovers of this movie should not miss the opportunity to explore this seminal collection.
For people who want to get outside and enjoy the natural beauty that is abundant in Marietta, there are a number of parks, trails, and mountains that afford opportunities for many varieties of sports. Mountain biking, hiking, canoeing, and fishing are a short list of some of the activities residents and guests of this city regularly enjoy. Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park and Sweetwater Creek State Park are both within just a few miles of central Marietta.
