Aloha Crater Lodge in Volcano

Booking a room at the Aloha Crater Lodge in Volcano is highly recommended if you plan on visiting Hawaii Volcanoes National Park during your trip to the Big Island. Located just two miles from the park's welcome center, the Aloha Crater Lodge could hardly boast a better location for those who need a nearby base, and the friendly rates only help to make a stay here all the more attractive. There are only four guest units at the Aloha Volcano Lodge in Hawaii, so booking your stay ahead of time is the way to go if you want to make sure that you have a room waiting for you.

The Honeymoon Suite is arguably the best room at the Aloha Crater Lodge, and it certainly features the most unique decor. Intricate furnishings and colorful walls liven up the room, and the amenities include a pillow-top king-size bed, a two-person Jacuzzi tub, and a large walk-in closet. The other three rooms at the Aloha Crater Lodge in Volcano boast good amenities of their own, as well as an attractive decor, so you'll also do well to book one of them. Both Room 1 and Room 2 feature kitchenette areas, which will make them more attractive to some guests, while Room 3, which is the most affordable of the bunch, offers a coffee maker and a toaster oven for your convenience. Standard amenities in all of the comfortable and attractive rooms here include satellite TV, Wi-Fi internet access, and a radio alarm clock.

Unlike the larger resorts on the Big Island, the Aloha Crater Lodge in Volcano doesn't boast an abundance of facilities and overall amenities, but that helps keep the rates down. The fantastic rooms are enough to seal the deal for some, and the friendly owners are another reason to stay here. After a day of hiking and sightseeing in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, which is what most visitors to the town of Volcano come to do, the lodge's outdoor hot tub is a welcome luxury. Visiting the nearby park isn't the only thing to do during your stay at the Aloha Crater Lodge, however, and if you like to golf, the 18-hole Volcano Golf Course is worth checking out. One of the more unique golf courses in the world—and something of a Big Island secret to boot—the Volcano Golf Course is located more than 4,000 feet above sea level on the rim of the Kilauea volcanic crater. When you finish your round at the course, you can enjoy a meal or some drinks at the on-site restaurant and bar.

Guests at the Aloha Volcano Lodge in Hawaii can walk to Volcano Village, where a number of interesting stores and good restaurants provide shopping and dining options, and the Volcano Winery is only a few miles away if you choose to go wine tasting. You can also plan side trips to fascinating beaches during your stay at the Aloha Volcano Lodge in Hawaii. The Punaluu Blacksand Beach at Punaluu Beach Park is only a twenty-minute drive away, while the equally intriguing Greensand Beach is further south if you want to visit it as well. Perhaps you'll be up for the 30-mile drive to Hilo, where you can explore interesting museums and stroll through beautiful botanical gardens, among other activities. A continental breakfast, which is included in the rates at the Aloha Crater Lodge, will help you start your busy days, and the relatively low rates will free up funds for trips to all the top east side Big Island attractions.
