If
you're enticed by the prospect of swimming next to rare,
endangered green sea turtles and spreading a blanket on
the black sands that hide crystals and shells, this place
is for you. After watching cresting waves against the
blue Pacific, you can take a hike on one of several trails.
This windy beach, near a resort complete with a golf
course, is named for the fresh water springs in the bay
where Hawaiians dove to tap the springs in the warm, clear
water. Secluded, this is a great getaway for honeymooners.
Hint:
Be careful to not touch the turtles, as they are well
protected by Hawaiian laws.
Public restrooms and showers are available, and also
camping (if you don't mind the wind).
