Mokuai Church

Perhaps the most interesting sites in the area is the Mokuai Church, the oldest church in Hawaii and built of lava stone and mortar made of crushed coral. With a New England-style architecture, the church is the tallest man-made structure in Kailua-Kona, with a 112-foot steeple. It's sometimes known as the "church of the chimes," since chimes sound each hour.
