Waikoloa Hotels

The Waikoloa hotels are mostly coastal resorts that are located about eight miles from town. These Waikoloa beach hotels are understandably popular with Big Island visitors who want to enjoy everything that the Kohala Coast has to offer, such as great beaches and world-class fishing. While discount Waikoloa lodging is relatively hard to come by, there is at least one hotel in the immediate area that can help you keep your budget in check. As for the others, they are generally on the expensive side, as they provide guests with a wide range of amenities. When visiting the Big Island, you will do well to book at least a few nights at one of the hotels in Waikoloa, and you might look to the vacation rentals in the area as well if you want to extend your lodging choices.
When discount Waikoloa lodging is what you have in mind, the Paniolo Greens Resort is your best bet, as it offers the lowest rates around. While the Paniolo Greens Resort is not located on the beach, you can hop in your rental car and get to some of the island's best beaches within ten minutes. Hapuna Beach is just one of the area beaches that you will want to consider visiting during your stay. Two-bedroom villas serve as the guest units at Paniolo Greens, and you should find that they offer virtually everything you need. In addition to being clean and comfortable, they include cable TV, a DVD player, a CD player, a furnished balcony, private laundry facilities, a fully equipped kitchen, an iron, and a hair dryer. Ceiling fans combine with cross winds to cool the villas, and air-conditioning is available for an extra fee for those who are interested. High-speed internet access is also available for a fee. You won't have to pay extra to enjoy the bulk of the resort's overall amenities, which include a tennis court, an outdoor pool with a sun deck, a children's pool, a fitness center, and guest barbecue areas.
Closer to the coast, the Hilton Waikoloa Village is an ideal fit for those who are looking for large and luxurious Waikoloa hotels. The beach that fronts the Hilton Waikoloa Village Resort is rocky and thus not the best for swimming or snorkeling, but the man-made lagoons with their white-sand beaches sure are. You can even enjoy dolphin swims in one of the lagoons. When you choose to visit one of the area beaches that feature sand instead of lava rock, you can always take the complimentary shuttle to Anaehoomalu Beach. Back on the 62-acre grounds of the Hilton Waikoloa Village, three large outdoor pools offer terrific places to swim as well. One of the pools here is an adults-only pool, while another is for all ages and features a 175-foot waterslide. Should you still be looking for things to do during your stay, the resort boasts an immense array of facilities, including nine restaurants, an equal amount of bars, two 18-hole golf courses, a children's program, and a shopping arcade. As for the 1,240 rooms and suites at the Hilton Waikoloa Village, they are well-outfitted and spacious. The list of standard in-room amenities is long, and highlights include a flat-screen cable TV, a private balcony with furnishings, complimentary signature bath products, and premium bedding.
The Halii Kai Resort is another lodging establishment that you will want to consider when checking out the Waikoloa hotels. Luxurious condos make up the guest room selection at the Halii Kai, and you can choose a one-bedroom, two-bedroom, or three-bedroom spread. You will enjoy a home-away-from-home experience at the Halii Kai, as fully equipped kitchens and private laundry facilities figure among the standard amenities. Ample furnishings can be found throughout, and other amenities include large plasma televisions with cable, DVD players, CD players, complimentary high-speed internet access, two bathrooms with signature toiletries, air-conditioning, and private balconies. Like the Hilton Waikoloa Village, the Halii Kai Resort fronts a lava rock beach that is not ideal for swimming. The ocean views are stunning, however, and there is a big oceanfront pool here where you can take them in while enjoying a swim. As for other overall facilities that the Halii Kai offers, they include a bar and grill that offers a tantalizing menu, a fitness room, a sun deck, and guest barbecue and picnic areas. The hotels in Waikoloa offer their guests a healthy amount of amenities, and the Halii Kai is no different.
The villas that are available for rent at the Outrigger Fairway Villas Resort are relatively luxurious, as is the case with most guest rooms at the various hotels in Waikoloa. Fully equipped kitchens, private laundry facilities, and private balconies are among the amenity highlights when it comes to the spacious villas here, and you can choose to have anywhere from one to three bedrooms. As any good resort should, the Outrigger Fairway Villas features a large and attractive swimming pool. While there is no on-site restaurant, you can easily walk to some nearby, and the beach at Anaehoomalu Bay is but a short stroll away as well. Golfers will appreciate the fact that the scenic Beach Golf Course borders the resort grounds, while those who want to keep on top of their workouts can use the on-site fitness center. The Outrigger Fairway Villas might not be the best bet for discount Waikoloa lodging, but you should find the rates to be more than fair when you consider what you get in return.
