Haleiwa Hawaii

Haleiwa Hawaii is one of the world’s great surfing destinations. After all, it is located on Oahu’s famous North Shore, which offers what many consider to be the best surfing in the United States. The surf culture understandably dominates Haleiwa, especially during the mid-November to late-December contest season, and surf shops are in good supply. Lessons are easy to arrange for those who are interested, and if nothing else, it can be fun to watch the surfers from the shore. For further insight into the Haleiwa surfing culture, head to the North Shore Surf & Cultural Museum. Other things to do in Haleiwa include stopping at Matsumoto Shave Ice, which is a local institution of sorts, and enjoying the Haleiwa Arts Festival in the summer.
