Kahuku Hawaii

Along the Oahu North Shore nest to the James Cambell National Wildlife Refuge is where you find the small town of Kahuku. The town was made famous in the mid-1970s – its Del Webb’s Kuilima Hotel was where the popular TV game show, The Diamond Head Game, was contested. The hotel has since become the Turtle Bay Resort, which is the only resort on Oahu’s north coast. The TV show, North Shore, was also filmed in the area more recently. For those who are more interested in things to do during their visits to Kahuku Hawaii, the area offers up opportunities to enjoy a number of fun outdoor activities, including nature walking, bird watching, zip-lining, horseback riding, and golfing. Of course, no discussion about the Oahu North Shore would be complete without mentioning the world famous surfing. It isn’t very far from Kahuku to such renowned surf spots as the Banzai Pipeline and Waimea Bay. For an exciting experience of a different kind, you can book a helicopter tour that highlights the North Shore. The tours take off from the Turtle Bay Resort helipad around sunset and last approximately one half hour. Nearby Laie to the south offers another area attraction of note – the Polynesian Cultural Center.
