The Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation, which rests on the shores of sunny Poipu
Beach, is an ideal place to escape to when visiting the Hawaiian island
of Kauai. Spread out over 30 beautifully landscaped acres, the Outrigger Kiahuna
Kauai offers plenty of room for you to roam, and the nineteenth-century architectural
style of the resort's buildings exudes a true Hawaiian feel. Swaying palm trees
dot the grounds of the Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation, and the pristine beach
is just steps away. Swimming and snorkeling
in the turquoise-blue waters of the Pacific Ocean are among the top things to
do at this charming resort, and you should find the rates agreeable.
Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation Resort
While a stay at the slightly more luxurious Sheraton Kauai or the upscale Grand
Hyatt Kauai might be what some Poipu
visitors have in mind, others will prefer more affordable resorts such as the
Outrigger Kiahuna Kauai. That's not to say that the rooms at the Outrigger Kiahuna
Plantation leave a lot to be desired. Even the smallest guest units here are
at least 880 square feet, so lack of space won't be an issue. You can choose
between guest units with king-size or queen-size beds, and additional sofa beds
are standard throughout. A tasteful tropical decor makes for a relaxing setting
inside the guest rooms at the Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation, and you'll have
your own private kitchen, which will be stocked with all the appliances and
cookware you will need to prepare convenient meals and snacks. Other standard
amenities you can expect in your comfortable quarters include a safe, cable
TV, a private balcony, free high-speed internet access, and ceiling fans. Air-conditioning
is not needed, as the ceiling fans and the cooling ocean breezes keep uncomfortable
temperatures at bay.
Having an ocean view unit at the Outrigger Kiahuna Kauai Resort is a plus, but if your room lacks views of the sea, it is still only a short walk away and can be viewed from most of the resort grounds. When you're not staring out to sea at the Outrigger Kiahuna Kauai Resort, you can take advantage of the guest picnic and barbecue areas and enjoy a special al fresco dining experience. If it's a good restaurant that you want, there are plenty close by, due in part to the fact that the Poipu Shopping Village is within walking distance. The resort's restaurant, the Plantation Gardens Restaurant and Bar, is open for dinner, and you would do well to enjoy at least one meal there.
Many activities are easy to arrange during your stay at the Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation, and you can always enjoy a rewarding round of golf at one of the spectacular Poipu golf courses if that suits your fancy. Renting a car to explore what the island of Kauai has to offer is recommended, and you'll also want to reserve time for a trip to stunning Waimea Canyon. Back on the grounds of the Outrigger Kiahuna Kauai Resort, the sparkling swimming pool with a waterslide is a good place to spend some time when you're not out and about. The pool is rimmed by rocky formations, tropical foliage, and cascading waterfalls.
The entire setting at the Outrigger Kiahuna Kauai Resort is inviting for a tropical getaway. As a side note, the Outrigger brand of hotels and resorts also offers two resorts in Kapaa that are worth considering when planning your Kauai visit. They are the Outrigger Waipouli Beach Resort and Spa and the Outrigger Lae Nani. Both of these resorts, like the Outrigger Kiahuna Kauai Resort, offer a considerable amount of luxury at a good price.
