Kaunakakai Hawaii

Kaunakakai is the largest town on the Hawaiian island of Molokai. You can find in the middle of the island’s south coast. Along this coast are historic fish ponds and Hawaii’s longest fringing reef. The best Molokai beaches are on the east and west ends, with the eastern beaches being the easiest to reach from Kauakakai, thanks to Highway 450. In Kauakakai proper, the downtown area merely consists of three blocks and there is not even one traffic light. That should give you a good idea about how small and remote the island of Molokai is and how much of a departure it offers from the state’s busier destinations.
Adventurers and nature enthusiasts should find plenty of bliss during their Kuanakakai visits. There are guided hiking tours to select from and equipment rentals for various other activities, including kayaking and paddleboarding. Regardless of your reasons to visit Kauakakai, it is recommended that you drop by Kanemitsu’s Bakery, which is famous for its onion and cheese bread.
