Aston Maui Lu Resort

Despite its name, the Aston Maui Lu Resort is really a budget hotel. But the good thing about this accommodation option in Maui is that it has all the modern amenities of a five-star resort hotel. You can choose from the Aston Maui Lu’s 120 rooms, fitted with one king-size or two standard double beds. What’s more, across the street from the main complex of the Aston Maui Lu Resort you’ll find deluxe rooms that are right next to the private beach inlets owned by the hotel.

The Aston Maui Lu Resort offers swimming pools, though most guests choose to use the beautiful beaches that surround the entire island of Maui, instead. The best of these are to be found to the north, where Hookipa Beach is a famed hangout for surfers and windsurfers, and to the west, where Kaapanali Beach, for example, is one of many pristine white beaches in Maui that attracts the moneyed elite. Following happy days spent lazing around on one of these awesome stretches of coastline, returning to the Aston Maui Lu and enjoying its barbecue facilities or tennis court offers a great way in which to round off the day, before sleeping to the sound of the ocean directly outside your guestroom window.

In fact, it could be said that few of the hotels in Maui can match the views from Maui Lu’s three oceanfront structures. Right in front of the resort is the Pacific Ocean in its full glory, while toward the north sit the splendid West Maui Mountains. You can’t beat the lanais, or private balconies, at this hotel in terms of savoring sunset views throughout the year and whale watching opportunities mainly during the winter months. If you’ve ever had a fantasy about lying on a stretch of private, tropical-cove beach, then the Aston Maui is the place for you to relax and unwind. And remember: The guestrooms at the Aston Maui Lu Resort come at a fantastically affordable price.

In terms of Maui things to do near the hotel, there is a farmer’s market located further up the street from the Aston Maui Lu—South Kihei Road, to be precise. The resort’s proximity to Mount Haleakala is one of the most attractive features of Aston Maui Lu, along with its oceanfront views and its nearness to some fabulous beaches, of course. Other attractions, such as the Banyan Tree Park and the Wo Hing Temple are a road trip away. Visitors wanting to strike out for these, or visit the museums on the island, are advised to rent a car. This will allow you to see the sights on your own accord and not have to rely on public transit or busy tour buses.

Attractions near the Aston Maui also include kayaking tours, which can be arranged through an operator less than a quarter mile from the resort. Maui’s beautiful scenic images along with warm blue waters make it an ideal spot for kayaking enthusiasts. Another activity you might want to explore is diving, and again, an operator is situated within a short walk from the Maui Lu. The diving firm is experienced and has been part of the Maui diving community for more than a decade.

In case you’re interested in some serious shopping, don’t forget to check out the Maui Clothing Outlets as well—just half a mile from the Aston Maui, they present the bargain hunter with a great chance to find a steal.
