A retreat center and day spa, Ho'omana is guided by Hawaiian owners Jeana Naluai and Justin Tafuri. Together with their family, Jeana and Justin welcome guests to their peaceful corner of the world. The treatments and the entire spa experience take place in an atmosphere focused on your well-being. Whether you've spent time enjoying Maui's legendary surfing scene or done a lot of nothing, you'll find yourself even more relaxed after visiting Ho'omana Spa Maui. The retreat center is surrounded by lush botanical gardens, which guests can get out and explore. For groups of four or more, Justin serves an expert guide for adventure tours. The roster of eco-tours include hiking and surfing excursions, along with snorkeling and paddling. Guests also can experience authentic Hawaiian culture with luaus and tours to sacred spaces.

Healing and Treatment

The practitioners who work at Ho'omana Spa are well-versed in the traditional elements of healing—and well-connected to the elements. Those who are familiar with modern spas, like the ones found in the Maui hotels, will feel right at home. Hot-stone treatments, aromatherapy, and facials are all available, using fine Hawaiian botanicals. But that's just one part of the experience. After-sun treatment is especially restorative after visiting the beach. An aloe body wrap or red clay masque will leave you skin feeling renewed and silkier than ever before. Ho'omana Spa also offers several varieties of massage, including Lomi Lomi. This old-style treatment has been passed down through the generations throughout the Hawaiian islands. For another experience entirely, guests can spend time in the sweat lodge. The ceremony, designed to purify both body and mind, features singing and chanting while heated stones are carefully put into place.

Ho'omana Spa Accommodations

The spa and its botanical gardens are located near the north shore of Maui, an easy trip from the Kahului Airport and the Hana Highway. Heading south on Halekala Highway, Ho'omana Spa Maui is just past Pukalani and Makawao. The retreat center an be rented for special events and ceremonies. Guests can turn their event into an overnight stay with two cabins available for rent. In total, Ho'omana can accommodate up to 13 people. The Makena Cottage features a private bath, full kitchen, sunny yellow walls, and a lanai that overlooks the garden. The Lehua Cottage takes it name from the red flower of the same name. This cottage, too, features a lanai and plenty of interior spaces to stretch out and really relax.
