Maui Golf Courses
Big Island Golf | Kauai Golf | Maui Golf | Oahu Golf

With a Maui golf vacation visitors will experience terrific warm weather, world class Maui hotels, stunning vistas, delicious South Pacific fare and likely one of the best golf vacations ever! With so many exciting things to do in Maui, adding golf to the roster is a great way to expand your range of activities. If you’re heading over specifically to play one, or several, of the almost twenty exceptional Maui golf courses you won’t be disappointed. Golf on Maui has become increasingly popular with many exceptional designers developing courses amid the striking beauty of the island.

Maui golf courses present a premier opportunity to test your game, try new challenges and dare not to be distracted by the surrounding allure. It can be best to enjoy Maui golf with someone who takes very calculated shots, allowing you more time to soak up the scenery! One of the top places to play during a Maui golf vacation is the Kaanapali Golf Course in Lahaina. Golfers will find 36 legendary holes that play through West Maui Mountain’s gorgeous foothills.

Kaanapali’s North Course is only one of two Maui golf courses expertly designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., and the only two in the entire Hawaii island chain. With a Par 71 and the longest yard at 6,700 the course is as demanding as it ‘s unique. Originally created for executive golf on Maui, the South Course was rearranged by Arthur Jack Snyder and stretches 6,600 yards with a Par 71. Ocean views, lush, manicured surroundings and clear blue skies make each Maui golf game more enjoyable than the last. The course is also located near many great Maui attractions so take some time to explore if you’re not playing a whole day.

Another of the must-play courses is Makena North to the east of Haleakala National Park on the southeastern side of the island. The course is included in a chain of courses beginning with the most northerly Wailea Blue Golf Courses and ending with the Makena South course. This area is great for a full day of golf on Maui where you have five easily accessible and great courses to play.

On the 14th tee of Makena North visitors will see four islands nearby and whales and dolphins breaching the ocean water creating one of the most magnificent views of any Maui golf courses. Nearby there are a number of popular Maui snorkeling spots. Aside from Makena’s stunning natural beauty the course design offers up many challenges and excellent putting greens. Molokini Island and several Maui beaches below provide even more eye-opening scenery from the championship Maui golf course. Numerous elevated tee shots turn to smooth and fast greens with holes 6 through to 14 considered some of the best in Hawaii.

For those who want to try one of the most difficult courses during a Maui golf vacation, look no further than Kapalua Plantation. As tough as it is beautiful, the broadest fairways are found here as well as the largest greens. Play is tight due to the changes in elevations and forceful trade winds that create terrific challenges at each hole. Golf on Maui at Kapalua Plantation is best played safely as short, wild shots equal many lost balls! The course is rated at par 73 yet plays much more like a par 83, even for professionals.

Tee times are not hard to arrange during your Maui golf vacation even though plenty of professional tournaments are held on Maui. There are a host of professionals giving lessons so you can brush up your game anytime. Whether you’re a lifelong player or a hopeful beginner, golf on Maui will wow you. There aren’t many courses that are equivalent to the combination of championship course and champion beauty Maui offers.
