Kapolei Hawaii

The census-designated area of Kapolei Hawaii has long gone unnoticed, though that is changing. That's because Kapolei is quickly becoming the second main urban center on the island of Oahu, and rapid growth is part of the plan. Found on the southwestern side of Oahu, Kapolei is a short drive from the Honolulu International Airport, which lends to its developing status, and Pearl Harbor with all its great attractions is even closer. While Kapolei doesn't yet rival the capital city of Honolulu in size and importance, some say it won't be long until it catches up. A number of businesses have been attracted to Kapolei Hawaii in recent years, as the promise of growth, stability, and a great location is hard to deny. In addition to plenty of new businesses, Kapolei also boasts plenty of new homes, and it almost seems as if the shopping and dining options are increasing on a daily basis. Because of the ideal location and the growing number of amenities, travel to Kapolei has steadily been on the rise, and for good reason. Many Oahu visitors make the trek over to Kapolei just to enjoy the Germaine's Luau dinner show, which is the premier luau event on the island.

Kapolei trips are ideal for golfing enthusiasts, with many great courses just a few miles from town. One of the best area courses is found at the Ko Olina Resort, which also boasts the luxurious JW Marriott Ihilani Resort. The 18-hole championship course at the Ko Olina Golf Club is sure to impress even the most seasoned golfers, and its expansive landing areas are a welcome feature for high handicappers. One of the other area courses that you might consider playing when you travel to Kapolei is the West Loch Municipal Golf Course, which is easier on the wallet than some of the other Oahu golf courses.
Golf isn't the only thing to do at the Ko Olina Resort, and if you're looking to build up your Kapolei vacation itinerary, you might enjoy hiking on the resort's trails, snorkeling in the man-made lagoons, or renting a boat at the marina. Scuba diving excursions can also be arranged, and there's nothing wrong with simply relaxing on a soft sand beach. As for other ways to spend some time outdoors when you travel to Kapolei, the beautiful area parks, such as Barbers Point Beach Park, are good places to visit.
Biking and picnicking are two more options when it comes to things to do on a Kapolei vacation, and further exploring in the island in your rental car is recommended as well. Honolulu and all its attractions are a twenty- to thirty-minute drive away, and you might head up the western coast to Waianae for a look around if you have the time. You can stay as busy as you want to on Kapolei trips, and the choices for things to do will only increase as the area continues to grow.
