Kawailoa Beach
On Oahu's scenic and relatively quiet North Shore you'll find Kawailoa Beach (photo), which got its name from the rocky yet sandy coastline. The beach, surrounded by elegant private homes, is more of a surf spot than a swimming favorite because of the small riptides between surf breaks.
You can often spot large sea turtles swimming close to shore at this beach. Parking, often a challenge in Oahu, is directly across from the beach.
Hint:
As tempting as it may be, do not touch the turtles. It disturbs them, and you could receive a hefty fine if noticed.
