Moscow Idaho is a remote and beautiful city is located in northern Idaho at the border of Washington. Spokane Washington is approximately 100 miles to the northwest of Moscow. Moscow Idaho is perhaps best known as the home of the University of Idaho. Washington State University is just eight miles to the west in the city of Pullman. There are about 21,000 residents in Moscow and the university is the main employer. Moscow offers seventeen parks that are distributed throughout the city. They provide expansive grounds for multiple activities including hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and canoeing. There are programs geared for youth as well as a host of green activities with which to get involved. In many ways, Moscow Idaho is a nature lover’s dream come true. There are endless opportunities to explore the outdoors on miles of trails, through deep valleys, steep hills, and pristine forestland. There is an ongoing effort to link up all of the parks and the river system in a sensible way that makes it more convenient for people to navigate the gorgeous terrain.
Moscow Idaho also hosts a number of annual events that are worth checking out. The Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival takes place the last weekend of February and is hosted throughout the city in a range of venues. The primary concerts are staged in the Kibbie Dome. The Renaissance Fair happens the first weekend of May in Easy City Park. This popular event features all manners of entertainers and performers than hearken back to the period of the Renaissance. Rendezvous in the Park is the premiere event in the month of July. This event features live entertainment in East City Park, as well as a wide variety of booths and vendors. If you are in Moscow Idaho anytime between May and October, be sure not to miss the farmer’s market in Friendship Square.
Once you have an idea of what you plan to do in the city, you will want to get an idea of what is available in terms of Moscow ID hotels.
