Silverwood Theme Park

Silverwood Theme Park, located just outside of Coeur d’Alene and an easy drive from Spokane Washington, brings the fun to northern Idaho. Like many theme parks, it is home to mind-bending roller coasters, live entertainment, and plenty of water rides to keep you cool. But unlike your average theme park, Silverwood is a labor of love, a privately owned park, in existence because of the hard work and foresight of one man, entrepreneur Gary Norton.

Since opening in 1988 as a showcase for trains and cars, Silverwood Theme Park has come along way. More than 8.5 million people turned the family-run park into one of Idaho’s most popular attractions. The 216-acre park provides a home to some 65 rides, live shows, and attractions, including the massive Aftershock coaster and the Boulder Beach waterpark. The park also takes advantage of its location, offering a long list of outdoor adventures as wild or mild as you like, from fly fishing to water skiing and hiking. Silverwood Idaho is a summertime attraction, open weekends in May and September and daily in between. It opens in October for a month-long Halloween celebration called Scarywood.
