Idaho Ski Resorts

Bogus Basin Ski Resort | Kelly Canyon Ski Resort | Schweitzer Ski Resort | Silver Mountain Ski Resort | Sun Valley Ski Resort

Idaho ski resorts include some of the most exciting places to ski in the country.  In addition to the world-famous Sun Valley Ski Resort, Idaho ski vacations can include trips to Schweitzer Ski Resort and various resorts in Boise and Coeur d’ Alene.  Back country chances to ski Idaho couple with huge resort style chances to ski Idaho, making Idaho a good place to visit for any level of skier.

The opportunity to ski Idaho at the Sun Valley Resort can be a lot of fun.  Sun Valley is home to two mountains with more than 78 runs.  The matrix of trails makes for almost endless skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.  An Idaho ski vacation at Sun Valley can also include shopping, great dining out and ice-skating, with plenty of activities for skiing beginners and even non-skiers.

If you plan to be in Boise and want to do some skiing, you can head to the Bogus Basin Idaho ski areas.  Although not nearly as large or famous as Sun Valley, the Bogus Basin is still one of the more fun Idaho ski areas.  Bogus Basin is located about 45 minutes from the town of Boise by car, and features 52 runs and 37 miles of trails for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.  Bogus Basin also has night skiing.

Idaho ski resorts in Coeur d’ Alene are also a lot of fun.  The Silver Mountain Ski Resort is among the most popular Idaho ski resorts in the northern part of the state.  From the town of Coeur d’ Alene, , Silver Mountain is about a 30 minute drive.  Among Idaho ski areas, Silver Mountain has the longest gondola, which operates year round, and is in fact the longest gondola in the world.  An Idaho ski vacation at Silver Mountain is a great choice for an easily accessible Idaho skiing vacation.

Another popular spot for skiing Idaho is the Schweitzer Mountain Resort.  Schweitzer is located about 45 miles north of the town of Sandpoint.  Idaho skiing at Schweitzer is a favorite among locals and travelers from nearby Washington and some other states.  Idaho skiing packages for season trips to Schweitzer are available, as are season passes for the other resorts mentioned here in Idaho.
