Peoria Hotels

Once again, like in most of Illinois, if you are looking for a unique Peoria hotel, you will instead find a plethora of lodging facilities that belong to chain conglomerates. However, there are a few hotels in Peoria Illinois that are a bit different. For example, the nine-story Mark Twain Hotel in Peoria, Illinois has recently undergone extensive renovations. As a result, it has been transformed into the premier boutique hotel in Peoria. The metamorphosis of this Peoria hotel has produced a hip, yet warm and comfortable downtown Peoria oasis, where you can sink into soft leather chairs, read a book by the custom-built oak fireplace, and relax to the sounds of upbeat music and friendly conversation. Century Rooms at the Mark Twain Hotel feature crisp, cool white cotton sheets, which are part of the hotel's Sweet Dreams bedding system. The Mark Twain is located near the Peoria Riverfront, the Weaver Ridge Golf Course and the Wildlife Prairie Park.

The hotel Pere Marquette is a landmark hotel in Peoria. It opened in 1927, at a cost of $2.5 million. At the time, the rate for a night's lodging was set at $2.50 per night. In 1981, the Hotel underwent a massive renovation and restoration. As a result, it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Pere Marquette is one of the only hotels in Peoria IL. to gain this distinction.

Today, the Pere Marquette continues to enjoy the status of being the premiere hotel in Peoria. No other Peoria Illinois hotel has been the venue for as many prestigious cultural and social gatherings, or hosted as many presidents, first ladies and other statesmen. The rooms at this Peoria Illinois hotel feature Internet access, in room movies and a variety of other amenities. This Peoria hotel is right across the street from the Peoria Civic Center, making it the obvious choice for anyone who is attending a convention.

A stay at any Peoria hotel allows you to enjoy Peoria's attractions, such as the Glen Oak Zoo or Clock Tower Park.
