Bloomington Indiana

Bloomington Indiana is located in the south central region of Indiana. It is about an hour's drive from Indianapolis to the northeast, and Illinois to the west. For over 20 years, Bloomington Indiana has been known as a "Tree City." It is a city with a rich theatre culture, a large folk punk music scene, and is the home of Indiana University. There are Bloomington attractions to please any traveler.

The most popular venue in Bloomington is the Buskirk-Chumley Theatre that was built in 1922 as a vaudeville and movie house. This area also has a number of lakes, as does much of Indiana, such as Lake Lemon and Lake Monroe, both of which are popular tourist spots. Cavers can also have their needs met at Buckner Cave. Ransburg Scout Reservation is also very near Bloomington—this is a Boy Scout camp that draws in large numbers of tourists, especially during the summer months. The list of outdoor opportunities in and near Bloomington Indiana is extensive.
