Bloomington Indiana is located in the south central region of Indiana. It is about an hour's drive from Indianapolis to the northeast, and Illinois to the west. For over 20 years, Bloomington Indiana has been known as a "Tree City." It is a city with a rich theatre culture, a large folk punk music scene, and is the home of Indiana University. Ransburg Scout Reservation is also very near Bloomington—this is a Boy Scout camp that draws in large numbers of tourists, especially during the summer months.
