Holiday World Rides

The Holiday World rides are thrilling for guests of all ages, as this is one of the best theme parks in the Midwest for family entertainment. To experience the wind whipping through your hair Holiday World rides in Santa Claus, the state of Indiana is the place to go. Some of the best rides at Holiday World will have you flying through the air, twisting, turning, as you zoom along the tracks of two wooden roller coasters and plenty of other thrilling rides.

For 2010, the Voyage has added two new Timberliner trains with contoured seats, individual lap bar, and grab bar with the exception of the first seat that does not accommodate a grab bar. The Voyage roller coaster takes you to heights of 173 feet then takes you on a trip through five underground tunnels, three 90-degree high-banking turns, and three spectacular drops of 154 feet, 107 feet, and 100 feet.

Speeds reach up to 67.4 mph along the 1.5-mile track, meaning a ride on the Voyage roller coaster is fast—it takes only 2 minutes and 45 seconds to complete the full circuit. Experience the exhilarating speed and hold on tight to the grab bar when you feel the pull of zero-G force as your car makes the steepest drops. The Voyage roller coaster, named for the Pilgrims voyage to the new world in 1620, was voted in the No. 1 Wooden Coaster on the Planet in 2009, for the third year in a row.

The Raven, named after Edgar Allan Poe's famous poem, takes riders whisking along the 2,800-hundred-foot track at speeds in excess of 50 miles per hours. Consistently voted by roller coaster enthusiasts as a top ride, the wooden Raven roller coaster offers a stunning trip that takes you over Lake Rudolph and travels through thick woods adding to the mystery of its name. There is a 110-foot life, two breathtaking drops of 85 and 61-feet, double-banked "s" curves, and a trip through a 120-foot tunnel, all in only 90 seconds. For safety purposes, riders are secured inside the car with individual seat belts and a latching lap bar.

A third popular thrill ride at Holiday World is the Legend roller coaster that reaches speeds of 65 miles per hour. When making your way through the best rides at Holiday World, work your way up from the Raven roller coaster, then the Legend, and finish with the Voyage. Do keep in mind that before climbing aboard any of the coasters, secure any loose items in the free lockboxes provided, and be sure to put the key in a safe place or leave it with someone in your party who is not riding.

Although the thrilling roller coasters are always a focus, Holiday World rides take into consideration the youngest guests, too. One of the best rides at Holiday World for children is the Howler roller coaster, located in Holidog Funtown. Unlike the Voyage, Legend, and Raven wooden coasters, the Howler is built entirely with a steel frame and accommodates up to twelve riders.
