Paoli Peaks

Paoli Peaks brings the experience of winter sports to southern Indiana. The resort's home, also called Paoli, is located about 95 miles south of Indianapolis and 45 miles north of Louisville Kentucky. This hill with a 300-foot drop was a natural choice for Indiana skiing and the perfect home for a wintersports resort. You'll also find a large, well-equipped lodge with everything you need for a well-rounded day at the slops. And with a bevy of choices for Paoli Peak lodging nearby, you can turn your day at the slopes into a full-fledged vacation.
When the weather turns cold, visitors and residents alike can enjoy Paoli Peaks ski experiences. Whether you're just beginning to ski or you've been hitting the slopes as long as you can remember, you'll find terrain to suit your skill level. The average grade at Paoli Peaks is 10 to 15 percent. One quarter of the terrain is suitable for beginners, with the majority suited for intermediate skiing. The remaining terrain is equally divided between advanced and expert runs. In total, the park has an uphill capacity of 11,200 people every hour—one quad chair and three trip chairs can take the skiers to the top of the peak. A double chair for beginners and a single surface tow also get people to where they want to go.
Skiing at Paoli Peaks Indiana is a possibility even if Mother Nature isn't cooperating. During the height of winter, when temperatures are well below freezing, the snowmaking equipment can make a foot of snow to blanket the entire resort in just 24 hours. On really chilly days, you'll really appreciate one of the best features at the rental shop—a special system just for drying boots. If you don't own the equipment you need for Indiana skiing, you'll have another reason to visit the rental shop. More than 1,600 set of skis and boots are available for rent for adults, with shoe sizes up to 16. Snowboarding equipment, freestyle boots up to size 14.5, and specially sized children's gear are also available. The well-stocked Paoli Peaks Ski Pro Shop will equip you with the gloves, clothing, and other essentials.
The list of things to do at Paoli Peaks also includes tubing. The 700-foot-high slopes are primed for fun, and the specially designed innertubes were crafted with both fun and safety in mind. The Arctic Blast Snow Tubing area also is a Wonder Carpet lift that will get will you back up the hill without the hassle of climbing. This area also features a lodge where you'll find a changing room, concessions, and plenty of places to warm up.
Visitors of all ages enjoy time at the tubing hill and the ski runs. If you'd like some help on sharpening your skills during a Paoli Peaks ski adventure, you should sign up for lessons. With a 100 trained guides available, you will have plenty of options for instructions, whether you want private lessons or you want to join a group. The calendar of events also includes racing, children's programs, and snowboarding lessons.
