The Three Rivers Festival 2016 brings nine days of arts celebrations, live music, and other fun to Fort Wayne in the summertime. When the first part of July rolls around, the community and its visitors gather to celebrate the season and the many things to do at this cool event.
Three Rivers Festival History and Facts
The first festival happened in 1969, designed as a community gathering point and a celebration of Forty Wayne's history. Even the early festivals drew more than 100,000 people. By the late 1970s, crowds were big enough to rival to Indy 500 Festival. In the years since, the Three Rivers Festival has added more events and more volunteers, with each year growing bigger and better.

Directions to the Three Rivers Festival
Held at Headwaters Park, just minutes from downtown Fort Wayne. If you're coming from the north from Lansing, Michigan, or Angola, Indiana, take Interstate 69 south towards Fort Wayne and the Coldwater Road exit. This heads straight to downtown, but the road turns into Clinton Street by the Glenbrook Mall. You'll be able to see the white peaks of the events tent as you're getting close.
From Indianapolis, head north on I-69 until U.S. 24, which is Lincoln Highway and Jefferson Boulevard. Travel through downtown Fort Wayne and turn left on Jefferson Street. Take another left on Superior, where the parking lots are located. From there, it's a short walk on Barr Street until you find Headwaters Park and the Three Rivers Festival Fort Wayne Indiana.
Lodging near the Three Rivers Festival
One of the closet hotels to Headwaters Park and the Three Rivers Festival, the Courtyard Fort Wayne Downtown at Grand Wayne Convention Center can be found at 1150 South Harrison Street. With lots of parking and 250 guestrooms, the hotel is well suited to providing hospitality to a large number of visitors. The stylishly decorated rooms have luxury linens, kitchenettes, and flat-screen TVs. The Courtyard also has a sports bar with its own collection of flat-screens.
