Kansas City Speedway

Ever since the grand opening of the Kansas Speedway in 2001, people from throughout the United States have gathered to watch some of the fiercest driving competitions in sports history, such as NASCAR races and the IndyCar Series. The Kansas City Speedway also hosts other events such as car shows, private parties, and race car driving schools. The speedway ranks as one of the most popular attractions in Kansas, with thousands of people purchasing Kansas Speedway tickets each year.

The oval track of the Kansas City Speedway is one and a half miles long and is considered to be a relatively easy course for professional drivers to maneuver. It can accommodate over 80,000 fans in its grandstand and an additional 10,000 people in its infield. The oval design of the track makes it easy to view the track, no matter where your seat is. The track has plenty of wheelchair accessible seats as well as box seats that can accommodate private parties. The grandstand is surrounded by concession stands selling food, drinks, and souvenirs. If you're planning on parking at the speedway, the free parking ramp can fit up to 60,000 cars

The Kansas City Speedway is located just 15 miles west of downtown Kansas City and is an hour away from Topeka. There are several Kansas City hotels near the speedway, many of which offer weekend specials for people visiting the Kansas Speedway. Some of the resorts, such as the Great Wolf Lodge Kansas, are designed with families in mind. The Great Wolf Lodge has one of the largest indoor water parks in Kansas and is complete with several waterslides, wading pools, hot tubs, and fountains. Hotels near the Kansas Speedway can sell out fast during racing events, so make sure to make a reservation early if you're planning on attending a major event.

Some people decide to camp at the speedway in their tent or RV. There are several campgrounds at the speedway, such as the Blue Ox Campground and the Motorhome Terrace. The Blue Ox Campground is complete with 561 campsites and restroom facilities. Campers have access to a free shuttle that will take them to and from the events at the grandstand.

Kansas Speedway tickets are normally sold in season ticket packages that include admission to racing events that occur over various weekends. The price of Kansas Speedway tickets depends on the racing event. NASCAR tickets can be quite expensive, while tickets to small racing events are significantly less expensive. No matter what type of event you decide to attend, whether it be a stock car race or a monster truck showcase, a day at the Kansas Speedway will be filled with energy and excitement.
