The other water parks in Kansas City offer fun and refreshment as well, and you'll find some good places to splash around in other parts of the state if you're looking for them. Families with young children will certainly want to keep the Kansas water parks in mind when visiting the state, and as long as you're a kid at heart, you'll have a blast at them.

One of the top indoor water parks in Kansas can be found at the Great Wolf Lodge and Resort. The Great Wolf Lodge Kansas resort is family-oriented, and not only does it boast a fantastic indoor water park, but some outdoor water park attractions and some great rooms as well. You'll also find a family restaurant onsite to help make your stay more enjoyable and convenient. Any family with younger children is encouraged to pass on the other Kansas City Kansas hotels and settle on a stay at the Great Wolf Lodge and Resort, and you'll be happy to know that the water park attractions here are only open to registered hotel guests. You can take a 3-person toboggan down a 336-foot slide at the Great Wolf Lodge's indoor water park, and the interactive water fort is a huge hit with kids. Perhaps you'll opt for relaxing float down the park's lazy river, and come summertime, the outdoor water park pool is a fantastic place to hang out for hours on end. Other things that you can enjoy at the Great Wolf Lodge and Resort include a miniature golf course and an arcade.

A new competitor is joining the scene when it comes to the water parks in Kansas City, and it's the Schlitterbahn Vacation Village. This sprawling vacation resort complex covers some 40 acres, and it features a signature Schlitterbahn transportation system to help you get around to all the village's different attractions. You can ride an uphill water coaster at the Schlitterbahn Vacation Village, and the park's lazy river isn't as lazy as you might think. It features some big waves that definitely add some excitement to the mix. You'll find all the usual water park attractions at the Schlitterbahn Vacation Village, including body slides, hot tubs, and interactive water stations. Not only can you rent a great room here, but there are also waterfront cabins available, though you just might fancy an elevated Treehaus guest unit. There are many water parks in Kansas City when you consider both the Kansas and the Missouri side, and the Schlitterbahn aims to give them all a run for their money.

Kansas City isn't the only place to find Kansas water parks. Should you be heading down to Hutchinson to enjoy attractions like the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center, you might add a visit to the Kansas Splashdown Indoor Waterpark Resort while you're at it. This water park is found in the Grand Prairie Hotel and Convention Center, and it features a space theme to honor the city's top attraction. The large activity pool at the Kansas Splashdown water park is among the park's highlights, and the lazy river with its "moon base" island is intriguing. If you prefer heading to a municipal water park instead of trying to get into one of the hotel-related indoor water parks in Kansas, the Rock River Rapids Water Park in Derby might just suit your fancy. One of the top outdoor Kansas water parks, Rock River Rapids offers a lazy river, an array of slides, and both a lap pool and a zero depth pool, among other things. Derby is just southeast of Wichita, so when you're not enjoying fantastic Wichita attractions like the Wichita Museum of Art, you can always head to Rock River Rapids when the weather is warm and have a splashing good time.
