New Orleans:
The majority of the golf courses in Louisiana can be found in New Orleans. There are several public golf courses to choose from, but you can talk to your hotel concierge about scheduling at a few private country club courses.
The 18-hole course at the Audubon Park Golf Course in
New Orleans is managed by
the Audubon Nature Society. It was opened in 1898
and is worth a look just for the surrounding nature alone.
Many of the golf courses were damaged during Hurricane Katrina, but have undergone extensive renovations. Check in advance to make sure the course you want to visit is up and running and the new grass is up to par.
Baton Rouge:
North of Baton Rouge is
one of the premiere golf resorts in Louisiana. The
Bluffs Country Club & Resort has an 18- hole Arnold
Palmer Signature Golf Course. It has been home to
many of the Louisiana state championships. The
Lodge offers overnight stays in 25 all suites rooms at
the private country club. You can play on the Arnold
Palmer Signature Golf Course then take in other activities
like a fitness center, a 5K walking-jogging trail, tennis
courts, swimming pool, and sports court.
Carter Plantation golf course has been listed as one
of the top ten in America by Golf Magazine. North
of Baton Rouge, this 72 par course is one of the Louisiana
golf courses you won’t want to miss.
Lafayette:
The Acadian Hills country club is a semi private 18
hole course that offers tree lined fairways in the heart
of Cajun Country. There is also some good action
at the Wetlands Golf Course, the Jay & Lionel Hebert
course and on the Les Vieux Chenes.
Lake Charles:
Probably the best golf in Lake
Charles Louisiana is at the L'Auberge du Lac Hotel
& Casino. There is a pool and sandy beach as
well as a par-71 championship golf course.
This is the only one of the hotels
in Lake Charles Louisiana that has a huge casino.
This is one of the better golf resorts in Louisiana.
Marksville:
Paragon Casino Resort is a Native American Casino in Marksville, that’s also home to one of the fine Louisiana golf courses. One of the better golf courses in Louisiana, the 18-hole golf course was ranked 4th in Louisiana.
Kinder:
Another great golf course that is located near a Louisiana
casino is the Gold Course at the Coushatta Casino
about 40 miles north of Shreveport. This is the
largest casino in Louisiana and golf is one of its
biggest attractions. There is also an RV parking
for the traveller that wants to experience a little
camping on their next
golf vacation.
Shreveport:
South of Shreveport is the Emerald Hills Golf Resort in Florien, LA. With an 18-hole championship golf course, it is also has a pool. One of the better golf resorts in Louisiana; it’s close to the Hodges Gardens and the Toledo Bend Reservoir, known for great fishing, making it a perfect family getaway.

Bend, is on Toledo Lake, south of Shreveport. At
this resort you can have a cabin over looking the water
and enjoy golfing, hiking, bicycling, and even relax in
