Fells Point Hotels
Fells Point hotels are popular with Baltimore area visitors who want to be close to all the action. Due west of Fells Point, Little Italy and the Inner Harbor unfold, and on the eastern side of the neighborhood, the new hot spot that is the Canton neighborhood begins. In Fells Point itself, a fine mix of restaurants, bars, and shops help to attract visitors, as does the neighborhood's historic appeal. Many Baltimore locals head to Fells Point when looking to do some eating, drinking, or shopping, and for visitors who are looking to do the same, the Fells Point hotels can make for excellent bases.
As for where to stay in Fells Point Maryland, there are a few hotels on the water, and they are all worth considering. You might also consider the small Blue Door on Baltimore B&B due north of the neighborhood or the Fells Point vacation rentals. On the water, two of the top choices are the Henderson's Wharf Inn and the Admiral Fell Inn. In fact, these two Fells Point hotels are among the best hotels in the entire Baltimore area.
The Henderson's Wharf Inn occupies a historic building that was built in 1893, and if you are interested in waterfront Baltimore hotels, they don't get any closer to the bay than this one. Comfort and style are the name of the game at the Henderson's Wharf Inn. Elegant decors characterize the 38 guest units, with standard in-room amenities including flat-screen TVs, upscale furnishings, feather beds, and mini bars that are stocked with gourmet treats. Gourmet breakfasts are also part of the deal, and the complimentary bottle of wine is a nice added touch. Free Internet and parking only add to the appeal. There is a 256-slip marina at the Henderson's Wharf Inn should you be looking to do some boating in Baltimore, and the business center can come in handy when there is work to be done.
The Admiral Fell Inn (pictured) also enjoys a privileged location near the shores of the Chesapeake Bay, which helps to make it another top recommendation for where to stay in Fells Point Maryland. The only thing separating the hotel from the water is historic Thames Street. Old World charm flows throughout the 80-unit Admiral Fell Inn, thanks in part to the antique furnishings and the lovely hardwood floors, but that doesn't mean that guests won't enjoy modern conveniences. High-speed Internet access is available throughout, for example, and there is a full-service business center onsite. Other facilities include a cool lounge and an excellent restaurant. Admiral Fell Inn guests can enjoy special tours that are offered by the hotel on most days of the week, and it is also worth noting that free access to a nearby health club can also be enjoyed. The rates include a full breakfast, and free shuttle transportation is offered for various area locations.
These are two of the best Fells Point hotels, but they aren't the only good ones to choose from. The 804 Anne Street B&B is also worth keeping in mind, as is the Celie's Waterfront Inn. Both of these bed and breakfasts occupy attractive townhouses, and their smaller size is something that some travelers will prefer. The 804 Anne Street B&B offers just three guest units, while Celie's offer nine units. Despite offering comfortable rooms and providing guests with satisfying breakfasts in the morning, both of these inns are relatively affordable. There are some suites at Celie's that offer increased comfort and amenities, thus making them more expensive and more suitable for discerning travelers.
When trying to decide where to stay in Fells Point Maryland, there are some vacation rentals that might pique your interest. As is true of most vacation rentals in the area, the Fells Point vacation rentals are relatively upscale and provide home-away-from-home lodging experiences that are hard to match. Apartments and townhouses make up the bulk of the choices, and for those who like to cook, the full kitchens are welcome amenities. Should you book one of the Fells Point vacation rentals and you plan on preparing meals, a trip to the renowned Lexington Market might be in order. All kinds of culinary provisions can be bought at this renowned Baltimore market.
