The Old Whaling Church is one of the main attractions on Edgartown's Main Street. Built in 1843, this link to the past is heavily tied to the whaling history of Martha's Vineyard. Edgartown has some other great historical attractions that are worth adding to your list of things to do while in town, and they include the Vincent House. As is true of the Thomas Cooke House, this home is now a museum. It was built in 1672 and is deemed to be the oldest house on Martha's Vineyard Island. Many of the homes in Edgartown actually predate the whaling days of the 1800s, and this is just one reason why the town is prime for walking tours.
