Nantucket Festivals

Nantucket festivals are an integral part of the island experience and can be enjoyed from April until November, with a couple notable exceptions for the holidays at the end of the year. There are a whole host of highly anticipated events that draw visitors, not only from the mainland US, but also from around the world. Many of the most popular Nantucket events celebrate the natural beauty as well as the cultural heritage and traditions of the island. You are guaranteed to find something that appeals to you on Nantucket Island, and if you have your heart fixed on a summer or autumn vacation, you can count on having plenty of options for fun events and festivals to schedule around.

Nantucket Wine Festival

The Nantucket Wine Festival takes places the third week of May and generally runs for five days. This celebration of gastronomy with an emphasis on wine sees over 100 specialty wineries visit the island and bring along with them many alluring wines to sample. There are a host of events throughout the week, including cooking seminars by celebrity chefs and wine tastings in elaborate homes and fine restaurants. This is one of the most popular festivals in Nantucket for good reason. It is one of the best weeks to enjoy the good life on the island. The weather is temperate, and the crowds not to big.

Daffodil Festival Weekend

This is a fantastic weekend at the end of April and beginning of May that celebrates the advent of spring with the blooming of over 3 million daffodils on the island! The grand event is the car parade that features over one hundred cars that are covered in daffodils. Other fun events that the whole family will enjoy include a dog show and the Daffodil Tailgate Picnic.

Nantucket Spring Restaurant Week

Early June is an ideal time to be on Nantucket Island if you appreciate food and wine. Many of the islands restaurants participate and offer steep discounts on fantastically innovative menus that feature seafood and gourmet dishes of every variety.

Nantucket Film Festival

The Nantucket Film Festival is known as a film festival of real merit that features the work of independent artists in the sphere of cinematography and screen writing. Held in June, you will have the opportunity to go to many movie screenings, celebrity panels, and extracurricular events at this top event on the island.

Nantucket Comedy Festival

This is another of the best Nantucket events held during the summer months. The Nantucket Comedy Festival takes place usually in July and regularly brings in national talent to supplement the lineup of local and regional comedians. This is a hot time of year on Nantucket Island, but also one of the best times of the year to enjoy the beaches, tours of the island, and many beach activities, from boating and fishing, to swimming and kayaking. The Nantucket Comedy Festival displays the lighthearted side of Nantucket Island and takes place during a great time to be on the island.

Nantucket Noel Season and Christmas Stroll Weekend

Nantucket is particularly charming during the holidays. From late November through December 31st, Main Street and much of the island comes alive with lights, carolers, and the smells and sounds of the holiday season. Shopping, dining, and entertainment seem to be even more enjoyable on the island around this time of year.
